The reason we exist
During my early years of leading change, I led mostly by instinct. My instincts told me to always love people more than the change itself because what good is change if people are wounded along the way. As people responded to my leadership with high engagement and enthusiasm, I learned that most people had experienced change trauma under leaders who "led" change with no regard for anyone other than themselves. To these "leaders," their change agenda was the most important and they did anything to achieve it. No wonder change failure is so high. In fact, research states that change failure ranges anywhere from 40% to 70% (By 2005; Isern and Pung 2007)! Now as a change leader with more than 15 years experience leading change in diverse contexts, I have been and continue to be committed to leading change for people and with people. This is the reason why the Change Leadership Institute was created. My hope is that collectively, we will reverse the change narrative and experience change success - together.
